Atlas the Titan by Loonalily Atlas the Titan by Loonalily
This is Atlas the Titan from Greek mythology.

Story: Atlas was one of the titans who fought in the war against the Olympians. when the titans lost the war, most were banished to Tartarus. However Atlas was condemned to hold up the heavens for all eternity.
There are different interpretations to what this means, I decided that Atlas holds up the universe, and if he were to drop it, everything will end including him. Which is why he doesn't just disobey Zeus.
The actual story is that Atlas holds up the sky to keep Ouranos (the sky) and Gaia (the earth) apart to prevent them from resuming their primordial embrace.

I have always loved mythology.

Wait. How would Ouranos and Gaia meeting again start a new war? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they spawn the first generation of Titans?

No you are correct, I actually made an error in my writing, which you just reminded me to fix. xD
Atlas kept the two apart under orders of Zeus to keep them from resuming their 'primordial embrace'. I'm not actually sure why I wrote about a second war.
I will fix it now, thanks for pointing out my error.
And yes they did spawn the first titans. :)

Ok, second question. Why did Zeus wanna keep his grandparents from meeting again? Did he have "Chicken Little" syndrome?

"Chicken Little" syndrome?
And honestly, I'm not sure why, perhaps so they do not create more offspring to fight Zeus... The whole primordial embrace thing I'm really not sure about.
Sorry for the late reply. :(
